Shastri Ramachandaran, a journalist—editor, writer, columnist—has worked in diverse positions from Reporter to Editor with 11 newspapers (mainly in India but also in China and Europe) and written and reported on national, regional and international affairs for magazines, journals, radio, TV, films, wire services and websites. His journalism extends to English, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Bengali, German, Swedish, Danish, Chinese (as used in mainland China and Taiwan) and Nepali publications, radio and TV. Sri Lanka, Nepal and China are his areas of special interest in foreign affairs. Dailies he worked for include The Tribune, The Times of India, Deccan Herald, Indian Express, Goteborg Post, Dagbladet Information and Politiken. In China, he worked as Senior Consultant and Editor of China-India Dialogue, and Senior Editor & Writer with China Daily and Global Times. Author of books, monographs, papers and thousands of articles, Shastri is co-editor of the book State of Nepal; co-author of Media, Conflict and Peace, and monograph on Civil and Human Rights of Agricultural Labourers in Tamil Nadu; and contributor to books on China. He is currently Editorial Consultant, WION TV.
